After Action Review. Armor Down Basic Training Week One

WHAT HAS BEEN DONE WELL:

- Thank-you to everyone on twitter who has followed @Ben_ArmorDown, liked me on Facebook and Promoted the blog.
- over 350 page views in one week is pretty damn good. Nice work everyone!
- thank you to my Five followers, most are family and friends but I want to give a special welcome to Gina. Her blog The Invisible Wounded is a first hand account of how difficult the transition can be, not just on the Smbrs (service member) but also on that smbr's family. I got your six, Gina, let me know if I can help in any way.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED:

-Profanity. My wife, whose opinion is always at the for-front of my mind, thinks that there was too much profanity used in The Cash post. I'm going too need some feedback from others before I rule it out because one of the things I am trying to do is maintain this blogs integrity as a raw gritty account of what combat is like and profanity is the norm, plus I kinda like it. Which leads into the next issue.

-lack of comments. 350 page views and only 5 comments, mostly from my mom and wife, needs improvement. I know every who has looked at is blog is high speed and has it all figured out, but humor me, if the cover of last months Time magazine is at all accurate then those that have got it all figured out need to share the wealth. We don't fucking leave anybody behind.....are we tracking??? (sorry baby)

THINGS TO SUSTAIN:

-this effort. I love this shit. I love the military. I especially love that I have been honorably discharged and don't have to hurry up and wait for anything for the rest of my life. That said, as long as people are watching I'm gonna keep working. HOOAH?

-Facebook and Twitter re-post, re-tweets, etc etc. @TeamUSAtroops @LeslieAnneBard @revstacks @usmc81 @GisboFaLcon thanks for the promo to your feeds. Thank you Lisa Kennelly, Mike Lacomb and Alex Plitsas for the Promo on your Facebook walls. Keep it up.

Week one is in the books. See you next week.

Out.

They'll help get the word out. Also consider Gooogle's Feedburner.

    WHAT NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED:
Generally, profanity is best left to out of your blog. Believe me, growing up in NY, I have to watch my language all the time. But you also need to consider your audience. Will you hit home with them if you do use it. I would offer this advice: use profanity is a tool not to express frustration or anger.

Good luck with your efforts & Thank you for your service. A. Guilbert @ IMOS-Journal
